Our Mission

AsOne Ministries is a non-profit organization making disciples of Jesus and creating sustainable solutions in education, enterprise, health, and agriculture that holistically address poverty in rural, underserved communities.

We are ending poverty one community at a time.

We believe individuals in poverty have the God-given talents and skills to lead their own communities out of poverty. At times, what they lack is access to resources, opportunities, and the infrastructure needed to invest in their own country’s potential.

We are driven by five distinct values.

Sacrificial Leadership

Following the example of Jesus, we believe the best leaders are those who utilize their passion, creativity, and work to restore, give, and bless. This stems from a place of humility, love, and sacrifice for others and we seek to rewire our motivations so that we can die to ourselves and instead uplift others among us so they may flourish. To do so, we are committed to rhythms and relationships that cause us to be people of integrity, service, and faithful stewardship for the sake of our communities.

Local Ownership

We believe that in order for long-term impact to be possible, we must empower local leaders to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for change in their own communities. Our vision is to see Ugandans empowering Ugandans. Our work is dedicated to seeing that our local teams are the change they want to see in their communities.

Holistic Mission

We believe our Christian responsibility is one of proclamation and demonstration of Christ’s Gospel. Yet, this is not just the task of evangelism or socially just work. Rather, the two are inextricably and intimately bound for a holistic witness of the Gospel. Therefore, in our partner communities, we are committed to work that includes both the announcement of the Gospel, which leads to loving and just social engagement, and social engagement that bears witness to the grace and redemption of Christ.

Relationships

Through relationships, we are pursuing God’s goal to restore humanity’s original identity and purpose as children who reflect God’s image. Jointly, we are reclaiming our original vocation as productive stewards, living together in just and peaceful relationships. By integrating discipleship and development, we are cultivating flourishing communities.

Long-Term Sustainability

We have chosen to invest deeply — financially, spiritually, and relationally — into our partner communities in order to help create generational changes and impacts. This process includes empowering local leaders to identify and fight the root causes of poverty and injustice in their communities, while simultaneously helping to create lasting infrastructures, systems, and solutions for continued flourishing.

Our holistic model is transforming communities

By empowering local Ugandans to lead and change their communities — our sustainable model is helping make disciples, educate students, create jobs, and ensure healthy Ugandans.

Education

We believe education has the power to change the world. Our unique model focuses on building sustainable social enterprises — including schools — that help reduce school dropout rates in the communities we serve.

Job Creation & Skill Development

At its core, our work seeks to develop new skills that result in jobs and greater economic mobility. Our work seeks to radically improve the average earnings of the families in the communities we serve.

Discipleship

We believe that through our social enterprises, we can fortify a community that develops life-changing relationships. Relationships are the context that we promote the gospel of Jesus and its life changing power.

Health & Wellness

Whether it be through training farmers on nutrition and crop variation or opening up medical clinics in rural communities our goal is to see children and families thrive as healthy citizens in Uganda.
