Claire’s Story

Read about Claire’s story and learn about how you can bring hope and healing to four new communities in Uganda this year-end by making a donation towards AsOne’s 2022 Year-End Campaign.

Before coming to AsOne’s medical clinic in Namayemba, Healing Grace Medical Center, Mirembe Rachael Claire thought she was possessed or having a chronic illness. She continued to treat the same symptoms over and over again without results.

Now she has been healthy for six months, and she says this hasn’t happened for the last four years.

High quality services, lab tests, and ultrasound scans are part of the reason Claire decided to visit Healing Grace Medical Center. Claire was experiencing a variety of symptoms including joint pain, fever, weakness, and weight loss. When she came to the clinic, the lab services were able to perform several tests.

The tests confirmed Claire had Malaria. After just four days of receiving treatment, Claire’s condition improved.

Malaria is a chronic disease, not alone an infection of the blood stream characterized by chills and fever. Failure to comprehend or detect its insidious course and its strong tendency to relapse, even after months or years, accounts for the fact that it still ranks as one of the serious social and economic problems.

Prior to her visit at Healing Grace Medical Center, Claire would visit clinics where she would receive treatment, without having lab tests done to know the exact diagnosis. She was told she was possessed or taking part in witchcraft. Sometimes she would self-treat, but her condition did not improve. The lab services Healing Grace Medical Center offers allowed Claire to receive the treatment necessary to bring healing.

Claire has encouraged her neighbors, family, and relatives to go to Healing Grace Medical Center because of the genuine treatment and services offered. She says places like that are hard to find, and she encourages Healing Grace Medical Center to continue with the care they are providing.

Claire loves AsOne and feels like she owes her well-being to it and the ways the medical staff faithfully serve Christ in bringing healing.

The opportunity to go to a clinic that was equipped with the necessary tools to determine her diagnosis gave Claire the opportunity to experience Christ’s healing.

With your help, AsOne can continue to provide healing and hope to people like Claire. More Ugandans can experience health with proper diagnoses through the lab services that will be offered at each of the four new medical centers opening in 2023.

Your gift is providing essential health care to rural communities that will transform the lives of thousands of people every year.
