Launching the Next Chapter in Serere & Luuka

Serere District - Eastern Uganda

Situated in the eastern region of Uganda, Serere District is characterized by its rich cultural diversity and agricultural landscape.

However, extended droughts, famine, and crop and animal diseases contribute to the vulnerability of communities here. Because the society heavily relies on subsistence agriculture, communities are susceptible to household income disparities and food insecurities.

Access to quality education also remains a challenge, affecting literacy rates and overall community development. Limited educational opportunities can perpetuate cycles of poverty, hindering social and economic progress.

Luuka District - Eastern Uganda

Luuka District, nestled in Eastern Uganda, is characterized by its lush landscapes and proximity to Lake Victoria, being one of the founding communities in the Busoga cultural region.

The community faces challenges in infrastructure development, hindering economic growth and access to essential services which contributes to income disparities.

Low life expectancy, often linked to challenges in access to quality healthcare services and low levels of literacy exacerbated by challenges in access to quality education remain major concerns. Improving healthcare infrastructure and promoting health education while enhancing educational opportunities and promoting awareness about the importance of education can contribute to sustainable positive change.

Empowering local communities for a sustainable future

Herein lies the opportunity to put ordinary Ugandans at the forefront of driving change in their communities. By investing in discipleship, education, and entrepreneurial training, we hope to empower these communities to break the cycle of poverty and create a sustainable future.
