For Maron, farming was never just about growing crops. It was about putting food on the table and providing a future for his family.
But for a long time, that future felt uncertain. Despite working hard, the farming methods Maron relied on produced little. His family faced food insecurity and financial pressure, and there were times when his children could not attend school.
Then Maron was given an opportunity to learn.
Through AsOne Ministries’ Agriculture Training Program, he discovered that small changes could make a significant difference. Learning how to properly space his crops, plan his garden, and improve his farming practices began to transform his harvest, and, with it, his family’s life.
Today, Maron’s story looks very different.
His family is eating three meals a day. His children are back in school. There is greater stability in their home, and with it comes something that can be just as valuable: peace of mind.
But Maron’s transformation didn’t stop with his own family.
Because of the success he experienced on his farm, his community chose him to serve as a Village-Based Advisor (VBA). Now, the farmer who once struggled to provide for his own family is helping other farmers discover better ways to grow food, increase their yields, and strengthen their livelihoods.
“It means a lot to have peace of mind while teaching people in my community how they can improve their livelihoods.”
This is what locally led transformation looks like.
Maron received knowledge, applied it, and saw his family’s future begin to change. Now, he is passing that knowledge on, creating a ripple of opportunity that reaches beyond his own household.
You are helping make stories like Maron’s possible. Your generosity equips farmers with practical skills that can increase yields, grow income, provide for families, and build greater resilience for the future.
One farm can feed a family. One farmer can help transform a community.
