AsOne Ministries // Q1, 2025 Recap

“Wise leaders use power for the sake of others.” - Uli Chi

Letter from the CEO

"Wise leaders use power for the sake of others." - Uli Chi

The first quarter of 2025 came at us fast. New communities opening programs, new communities under construction, and existing communities demonstrating progress. If you’ve been around AsOne for any short while, you’ll see the words “Ugandans empowering Ugandans” written on walls, shirts, or even notebooks. This phrase is not just something we talk about (or write about) – it is something we live.

The core of our mission is to give agency to others. Not just to our top leaders in Uganda, but they live it out too - daily teaching their fellow Ugandans the principles of building lasting success. Empowerment has become a catchy idea but at its core it requires patience, endurance, and often the willingness to sacrifice for the greater good.

These updates showcase the fruit of that endurance - evidence of lives being changed, communities growing stronger, and leadership taking root. I couldn’t be more proud of how our Ugandan team demonstrates this motto in their lives and work. While there is still tremendous work to do, growth to happen, and lessons to be learned, we celebrate what God is accomplishing through AsOne across rural communities in Uganda.

I am deeply grateful for the exceptional leadership of the organization. We have strong Boards in both Uganda and the U.S. with a deep commitment to the organization. Our team, leadership, and management across the organization remain steadfast and devoted to serving rural communities with a Christ-centered approach.

We are grateful to the Lord for his protection and provision. We are thankful for your unwavering support towards expanding Christ-centered and sustainable services to Uganda.

Grace & Peace,

Andrew DeVaney

Opened Communities 6 & 7

In January 2025, AsOne launched a new school and health center in the rural communities of Serere and Luuka (communities 6 & 7). Led by local Ugandan leaders, these programs are fostering dignity, self-sufficiency, and lasting community-led change. Check out more about the opening ceremonies here!

By the Numbers - Luuka + Serere

With over 350 students enrolled at AsOne Primary & Nursery School - Serere and over 150 students enrolled at AsOne Primary & Nursery School - Luuka, children in these communities now have the opportunity to receive a high-quality education. Furthermore, AsOne’s health centers in both communities are providing essential services at affordable costs. Since their launch, Healing Grace Medical Centers in Luuka and Serere have served nearly 2000 patients. Read more about our new communities here!

Impact of AsOne in Luuka

Hear from our Community Director, Deo Waisswa, as he shares the impact AsOne is having in the community of Luuka.

Started Construction in Community 8

AsOne started construction on Community # 8 - Pallisa! Pallisa District is home to over 400,000 people—more than 55% of them are children and youth, many of whom have limited access to quality education and healthcare.

We are expanding into Pallisa to build a high-quality school and health center. At full capacity, this new community is estimated to educate 650+ students, deliver critical healthcare to 10,000+ patients annually, and generate 60 jobs for local Ugandans.

Pallisa faces significant barriers to quality education and healthcare, and AsOne’s expansion into the district aims not to provide immediate aid, but to create permanent, sustainable, long-term change. This spring we are raising funds to build a school and health center to change Pallisa’s reality—one child, one patient, one job at a time.

Would you join us in changing the story?

AsOne HS - Namayemba: Excelling in Academics + Athletics

AsOne High School - Namayemba is setting the standard for excellence within our schools, clinching the top spot in national exam results and securing the district soccer championship!

AsOne High School — Namayemba was the top performing High School on S4 national examination results in Bugiri District! We are incredibly proud of our staff and students for their accomplishment.

In addition to academic success, the Namayemba boys' soccer team won the district tournament and are the Bugiri District Champions! They’re now gearing up for the regional matches ahead, and we’re excited to see what’s next.

These achievements reflect the hard work and dedication of the Namayemba community, and we look forward to seeing what they accomplish next.
